The garland is simply flags of the countries we have learned about stapled to some twine. Since I just thought of this, we only have two flags from our most recent rows-- the United States and Japan. I am hoping this will prompt me to review more with Tyler and that the visual exposure will hopefully help Tyler remember some of the countries.
Since writing this post, we have added the flag of Scotland and Germany. Check out our most recent rows to see them altogether!
Kristina, what a great idea! I think for review, I will go back and make the flags of the countries we have studied so far!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Phyllis! It is definitely one of those, "Why didn't I think about this sooner?!" projects!!
DeleteI would love for you to link up activities like this that teach children about other languages and cultures at my weekly link-up "Say it Two Ways Thursdays". Link up at http://toddlefast.blogspot.com/search/label/Say It Two Ways Thursdays.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun garland! Thank you for sharing at Sharing Saturday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun garland, I think we might be recreating it with our Around the World in 12 Dishes series, it will be a great way for my daughters to reminder where we've learned about and cooked dishes from. Thanks for sharing on our after school link up!
